The provincial authorities in Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has determined to buy the ancestral homes of legendary Bollywood actors Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar. The Department of Archaeology in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province has determined to allocate enough funds for buying the 2 buildings.
The two buildings which have been declared because the nationwide heritage and lie in the guts of Peshawar metropolis are in a dilapidated situation and are going through demolition menace. The officers plan to preserve the historic buildings. According to studies, an official letter has been despatched to the Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar to decide the price of each the buildings.
Raj Kapoor’s ancestral house often called Kapoor Haveli is located in the fabled Qissa Khwani Bazar and was constructed between 1918 and 1922. Raj Kapoor was born in the constructing.
Meanwhile, veteran actor Dilip Kumar’s over 100-year-old ancestral house can also be positioned in the identical locality. The house was declared as nationwide heritage in 2014.
Reportedly, the present proprietor of the Kapoor Haveli, Ali Qadar has demanded Rs 200 crores from the KP authorities to promote it out to the federal government. In 2018, Rishi Kapoor requested the Pakistan Government to convert the Kapoor Haveli right into a museum. However, the request was not materialised.
